মালদা জেলার ইংলিশ বাজার এলাকায় চন্দননগর গ্রামে এই স্থাপত্যটি অবস্থিত। ফারসি শব্দ গুমবদ থেকে এই কথাটি এসেছে। এর অর্থ প্রহরীর কুটির।
স্থাপত্যটি বাইরের দিকের মাপ হল প্রতিদিকে ৪২ ফুট ৮ ইঞ্চি এবং ভেতর দিকে ২৫ ফুট করে। এটি দুর্গের একটা ছোট্ট ফটক ছিল । পূর্ব-পশ্চিম দুদিকেই ইট দিয়ে তৈরি স্তম্ভ আছে। কোথাও কোথাও কার্নিশের অলংকরণ এখনো দেখা যায়। দরজার পার্শ্ববর্তী মিনারে আদিনা মসজিদের স্থাপত্য এবং অলংকরণ বৈশিষ্ট্যে লোটন মসজিদের ছাপ আছে।
সুস্মিতা সোম লিখিত গ্রন্থে উল্লেখিত হয়েছে যে ১৫১২ খ্রিস্টাব্দে হোসেন শহর দুর্গের একটি গেট তৈরি করেছিলেন। এই ফটক সৌধের শিলালিপিটি বর্তমানে ফিরোজপুর শাহ নিয়ামাতুল্লার মাজারে সংযোজিত হয়েছে।
This structure is located in Chandannagar village in the English Bazar area of Malda district. The word comes from the Persian word Gumbad. It means watchman's hut.
The structure measures 42 feet 8 inches on each side and 25 feet on the inside. It was a small gate of the fort. There are pillars made of bricks on both the east and west sides. In some places, the decoration of the cornice is still visible. The minaret next to the gate , architectural and decorative features of the gate looks like Adina Mosque and Lawton Mosque.
It is mentioned in the book written by Sushmita Som that in 1512 AD, Husain Sah built a gate of the city fort. The inscription on this gate monument is now attached to the shrine of Shah Niamatullah in Firozpur.
