বর্ধমানের কাটোয়া থানার অন্তর্গত একটি গ্রাম শ্রীবাটি এই গ্রামটি একসময় খুব ঐতিহ্যপূর্ণ ছিল। বর্ধমান জেলার পুরা কীর্তি গ্রন্থে যজ্ঞেশ্বর চৌধুরী মহাশয়। এই গ্রামটি সম্বন্ধে কিছু আলোচনা করেছেন। অতীতে শোভারাম চন্দ নামে এক ব্যক্তি শ্রীবাটি অঞ্চলে বাস গৃহ নির্মাণ করে বসবাস শুরু করেন। এই চন্দ পরিবার এই অঞ্চলে কয়েকটি টেরাকোটা অলংকৃত মন্দির তৈরি করেন। চন্দ পরিবারের মন্দির প্রাঙ্গণে একইসঙ্গে অবস্থিত তিনটি মন্দিরের একটি হলো শংকর শিব ( কারো মতে বিশ্বেশ্বর) মন্দির।
আটকোনা এই মন্দিরটি দক্ষিণ মুখী। টেরাকোটা ফলকে অত্যন্ত সমৃদ্ধ এই মন্দির। মন্দির টেরাকোটা ফলকে ইউরোপীয় প্রভাব সুস্পষ্ট।
Shribati, a village under Katwa police station in Burdwan, was once a very traditional village. In the book Pura Kirti of Burdwan district, Yajneshwar Chowdhury has discussed something about this village.In the past, a man named Shovaram Chand built a house in the Sribati area and started living there. The Chand family built several terracotta decorated temples in the area.
The Shankara Shiva (some say Vishweshwar) temple is one of the three temples located simultaneously in the temple premises of the Chanda family.
This octagonal temple faces south. This temple is very rich in terracotta panels. The European influence is evident in the temple terracotta panels.
