বাঁকুড়া জেলার পাত্রসায়র থানায় দামোদরের শাখা নদী ভোদাইয়ের ধারে হদল এবং নারায়ণপুর পাশাপাশি দুটি গ্রাম থাকলেও তাদের একসাথেই উচ্চারণ করে ডাকা হয় হদল - নারায়ণপুর । কাছাকাছি রেলস্টেশন বলতে পাঁচ কিলোমিটার দূরে ধগড়িয়া।
আগের জমিদারি আমলের মন্ডল উপাধিধারি পরিবারের তিন তরফ বড় তরফ, মেজ তরফ এবং ছোট তরফ এদের প্রতিষ্ঠিত কিছু টেরাকোটা মন্দির, রাস মঞ্চ এই গ্রামের তথা জেলার অন্যতম ঐতিহ্য। এই পরিবারে এক পূর্বপুরুষ মুচিরাম ঘোষ মল্লরাজ গোপাল সিংহের আমলে এই অঞ্চলের প্রশাসক নিযুক্ত হন এবং মন্ডল উপাধি লাভ করেন।
গ্রামের পথে ঢুকতেই একটি পরিতক্ত মন্দির চোখে পড়ে এই মন্দির থেকে কিছুটা উত্তর দিকে এগিয়ে গেলে মন্ডলদের ছোট তরফ প্রতিষ্ঠিত মন্দির। মন্দিরটি দক্ষিণমুখী। নবরত্ন এই মন্দিরটিতে গির্জার কিছুটা আদল লক্ষ্য করা যায়। ব্যতিক্রমী এই স্থাপত্যটি বাইরের দিকে আট কোনা কিন্তু ভেতরের দিকে চারকোনা ছাদ যুক্ত। শোনা যায় উনবিংশ শতাব্দীর প্রথমদিকে এই পরিবারের বাবুরাম মণ্ডল তার পুত্র গঙ্গা গোবিন্দের নামে এই মন্দিরটি তৈরি করেছিলেন।। মন্দিরে কোন প্রতিষ্ঠান লিপি নেই।
মন্দিরে টেরাকোটা সজ্জার মধ্যে স্বয়ম্বর সভায় অর্জুনের লক্ষ্যভেদ ফলকটি খুব সুন্দর। এরকম ফলক সচরাচর চোখে পড়েনি।
Although Hadal and Narayanpur are two villages located side by side on the banks of the Bhodai, a tributary of the Damodar, in Patrasayar police station of Bankura district, they are pronounced together as Hadal - Narayanpur. The nearest railway station is Dhagaria, five kilometers away.
The three branches of the family holding the Mandal title from the previous zamindari period, the baro (elder brother ) taraf, the mejo taraf ( middle brother), and the choto taraf ( younger brother ) established some terracotta temples and the Ras Mancha are one of the traditions of this village.An ancestor of this family, Muchiram Ghosh, was appointed as the administrator of this region during the reign of Mallaraja Gopal Singh and received the title of Mandal.
As you enter the village, you will see a ruined temple. If you move a little north from this temple, you will see a small temple established by the Mandals. The temple faces south. This Navaratna temple has some resemblance to a church.
This exceptional architecture has an octagonal roof on the outside but a square roof on the inside. It is said that Baburam Mandal of this family built this temple in the name of his son Ganga Govinda in the early nineteenth century. There is no foundation inscription in the temple.
The plaque depicting Arjuna's target piercing in the swayamvar sava ( a ceremony where a bride chooses her groom) amidst the terracotta decorations in the temple is very beautiful. Such a plaque is not often seen.
