মালদা জেলার ইংলিশবাজার থানা এলাকায় নিমা সরাই গ্রামে এই মিনারটি অবস্থিত। ভিত্তিতে আট কোনা এই মিনারটি প্রতিপাশের দৈর্ঘ্য ১৮ ফুট ৯ ইঞ্চি , এবং পরিধি ৫৮ ফুট ৯। মিনারটির উপরের অংশ ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে কেবলমাত্র নিচের দুটি তলা এখনো অবশিষ্ট আছে। ওপরে ওঠার জন্য ভেতরে ঘোরানো সিড়ির ব্যবস্থা আছে। মিনারটির বাইরের দেয়ালে পাথরের অনেকগুলি বর্ষার ফলার মত কিলক লাগানো আছে। এটি এই মিনারের একটা বৈশিষ্ট্য। কথিত আছে বিভিন্ন কারণে গৌর এবং পান্ডুয়ার মানুষদের সতর্কতার সংকেত জানানোর জন্য এই বর্ষার ফলার মত পাথর খণ্ড গুলিতে মশাল জ্বালিয়ে দেওয়া হতো। মিনারটি গৌড় এবং পান্ডুয়ার মধ্যবর্তী অবস্থায় থাকার দরুন সব জায়গার মানুষ এটা দেখে সতর্ক হতে পারত।
আরো কথিত আছে যে এই টাওয়ার টি ষোল শতকে আকবর তৈরি করেছিলেন। এর বাইরের সমগ্র দেয়ালে হাতির দাঁত লাগানো ছিল। কোন কোন ইতিহাসবিদদের মতে হাতির দাঁতগুলি মৃত্যুদণ্ডপ্রাপ্ত অপরাধীদের মাথা ঝুলিয়ে রাখার জন্য ব্যবহার করা হতো।
বর্তমানে মিনারটি সরকার কর্তৃক সংরক্ষিত হচ্ছে।।
This minaret is located in Nima Sarai village in Englishbazar police station area of Malda district. This octagonal based minaret has a side length of 18 feet 9 inches and a circumference of 58 feet 9 inches. The upper part of the minaret has been destroyed, only the lower two floors are still remaining. There is a spiral staircase inside to go up. The outer wall of the minaret has many stone slats like peg . This is a feature of this minaret.
It is said that torches were lit on these peg-shaped stones to signal warning to the people of Gaur and Pandua for various reasons. Since the tower was located between Gaur and Pandua, people from all over could have been alerted by seeing it.
It is also said that this tower was built by Akbar in the 16th century. Its entire outer wall was covered with tusk. According to some historians, the tusk was used to hang the heads of criminals sentenced to death.
The tower is currently being protected by the government.
