বীরভূম জেলা দুবরাজপুর থানার অন্তর্গত হেতমপুর গ্রামটি অত্যন্ত ঐতিহ্যশালী গ্রাম। হেতমপুর রাজবংশ উনবিংশ শতাব্দীতে এখানে বেশ কিছু মন্দির নির্মাণ করেন। রাজা শ্রীকৃষ্ণ চন্দ্র স্থাপিত চন্দ্রনাথ শিব মন্দিরের কাছে বাবু পাড়ার আরেকটি শিব মন্দির আছে। দেউল আকৃতির এই শিব মন্দিরটি দেওয়ানজি শিব মন্দির নামে খ্যাত। মন্দিরে কোন প্রতিষ্ঠা লিপি দেখি নি। শ্রদ্ধেয় দেব কুমার চক্রবর্তী লিখিত বীরভূম জেলার পুরাকীর্তি গ্রন্থে এই মন্দিরটির উল্লেখ আছে। তিনি এই স্থানটির প্রাচীনত্ত বিষয়ে বিভিন্ন তথ্যের উল্লেখ করেছেন।
সম্ভবত মন্দিরটি উনবিংশ শতাব্দীর কোন সময় প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। বর্গাকৃতি মন্দিরটি বীরভূম জেলায় দেউল মন্দিরের যে বিশেষ রীতি গড়ে উঠেছিল সেই আঙ্গিকে তৈরি।
মন্দিরটি টেরাকোটা ফলকের কারুকার্য শোভিত। দক্ষিণ মুখী এই মন্দিরের সম্মুখভাগে দরজার ওপর প্রধান প্যানেলে রাম সীতার ফলক, দুপাশে নিচ থেকে ওপরে উঠে যাওয়া কলাম ধরে বিভিন্ন মূর্তি এবং প্যানেলের উপর ভাগে বাঁ দিক থেকে ডানদিক পর্যন্ত লম্বা করে কৃষ্ণলীলা বিভিন্ন ফলক রয়েছে।পূর্ব দিকের দেয়ালে কৃষ্ণ লীলার বিভিন্ন ফলক রয়েছে। বর্তমানে মন্দিরের অন্য দুপাশে কোন ফলক নাই। ছোট ছোট ফলক গুলির মধ্যে সাহেব , মেমসাহেব , দেবতা , নারী মূর্তি এগুলি উৎকীর্ণ হয়েছে।
মন্দিরটি রাজ্য সরকার কর্তৃক সংরক্ষিত হয়েছে।
Hetampur village under Dubrajpur police station of Birbhum district is a very traditional village. The Hetampur dynasty built several temples here in the 19th century. There is another Shiva temple in Babu Para near the Chandranath Shiva temple established by King Sri Krishna Chandra.This Shiva temple in the style of a deul temple is known as Dewanji Shiva Temple. I have not seen any foundation inscription in the temple. This temple is mentioned in the book of Birbhum jelar purakirti written by Hon'ble Dev Kumar Chakraborty. He has mentioned various information about the antiquity of this place.
The temple was probably established sometime in the 19th century. The square-shaped temple is built in the style of the special style of Deul temples that developed in Birbhum district.
The temple is adorned with terracotta panel art. The south-facing facade of this temple has a panel of Ram and Sita on the main panel above the door, various idols on the columns rising from the bottom to the top on both sides, and there are various Krishna Leela plaques on the upper part of the panel, running lengthwise from left to right. There are various Krishna Leela plaques on the eastern wall. Currently, there are no plaques on the other two sides of the temple. Small plaques have images of Saheb, Memsaheb, Deities, and Female Idols carved on them.
The temple is protected by the state government.
