বর্ধমানের অম্বিকা কালনায় বর্ধমান রাজাদের প্রতিষ্ঠিত মন্দিরের অনেক গুলি রাজবাড়ী চত্বরে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। এর মধ্যে অন্যতম হলো রাস মঞ্চ। এই স্থাপত্যটি রাজা তিলক চাঁদের আমলে নির্মিত হয়েছিল আনুমানিক প্রতিষ্ঠাকাল ১৭৫৮ খ্রিস্টাব্দ।
তিন ফুট ভিতের ওপরে আট কোনা রাসমঞ্চটি সকল দিকেই খোলা। এই রাসমঞ্চটির বৈশিষ্ট্য হল ভিতর অষ্টকোনা আকৃতির ক্ষেত্রের সামনে বারান্দার মত একটু এগিয়ে এসে আরেকটি অষ্টকোনা আকৃতির ক্ষেত্র। বাইরের দিকের অংশটিতে ছাদ ছিল , এখন তা আর নেই। ভেতরে অষ্টকোণা আকৃতির ক্ষেত্রর ওপরে একটি গম্বুজ অবস্থিত আছে। এই গম্বুজ আকৃতির চুড়াকে রসুন চূড়া বলা হয়। স্থাপত্যের বাইরের দিকে আটকোনা আকৃতির প্রতিটি দেওয়ালে তিনটি করে বাতায়ন হিসাবে মোট ২৪টি বাতায়ন আছে। এর মোট পরিধি ৯৬ ফুট এবং উচ্চতা প্রায় কুড়ি ফুট।
রাস উৎসব ছিল লালজি ও মদন গোপাল বিগ্রহের উৎসব। আগে রাসের সময় মাঝি বাড়ির শ্যামচাঁদ ও শ্যামরাইকে জামাই হিসেবে রাসমঞ্চে নিয়ে এসে উৎসবে যোগদান করানো হতো।
রাজবাড়ীর বৈষ্ণব সাংস্কৃতিক উৎসবে রাসমঞ্চ একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করতো।
Many temples established by the kings of Burdwan in Ambika Kalna, Burdwan were established in the Rajbari complex. One of them is the Ras Mancha. This structure was built during the reign of King Tilak Chand, approximately in 1758 AD.The octagonal stage, built on a three-foot foundation, is open in all directions. The special feature of this stage is that in front of the inner octagonal area, another octagonal area extends like a veranda. The outer part had a roof, which is no longer there.Inside, there is a dome on top of an octagonal area. This dome-shaped peak is called the Garlic Peak. On the outside of the structure, there are a total of 24 windows, three windows on each octagonal wall. Its total circumference is 96 feet and its height is about twenty feet.
The Ras festival was a festival of Lalji and Madan Gopal deities. Earlier, during the Ras festival, Shyamchand and Shyamrai of the Majhi family were brought to the Rasmancha as sons-in-law and made to participate in the festival.
The Rasmancha played an important role in the Vaishnava cultural festivals of Rajbari.
